Unfortunately, with three kids ages 4 and under, most of my planning efforts go directly to my little people in an effort to ensure that we always have something fun, educational, and super memorable to fill our free time with. Once upon a time, I would scour Yelp for 5 star reviews, try a cuisine I’ve never had before, attend events in the big city, and dare I say it…date my husband.
While it seems like a distant memory (and I don’t even necessarily mind it that way since being a mom is such a joy), I long for more solo time with my husband, and I made it a goal this year to set aside more time to “date each other” again. Enter 21c Museum Hotel. Y’all, when this opportunity arose to partner with 21c, I couldn’t have possibly been more excited. I love planning so much that it’s sometimes hard for me to let go of control, but I gotta say that my experience with 21c felt like I had a personal assistant JUST LIKE ME, and it made it so much easier to let go of the reigns. It was a breath of fresh air. From arrival times to Uber rides and everything in between, 21c took care of everything for us.
My husband is a hustler and between his two jobs barely gets any time off. We had limited time and dates available for a fun mom & dad’s night out, and 21c gave us the very best overnight experience. With all that we were able to jam into this short one-night stay, you’d think we stayed for a week.
21c Museum Hotel is a newer hotel in River North and offers travelers a one-of-a-kind experience that blurs the line between contemporary art museum and boutique hotel. It kind of reminded me of my childhood when we’d get the opportunity to sleepover at the library for a night; in this case, we got to have a sleepover at one of the most unique contemporary art museums I’ve ever experienced! 21c offers 10,000+ square feet of exhibition space featuring art of the 21st century. It was truly a treat walking through the museum, and it was so politically charged in all of the right ways – a true statement to my own personal convictions. And at the end of our self-guided tour (free admission to the public) all we had to do was hop on the elevator up to our gorgeous hotel room. Our room was bright, open, and the whole aesthetic was undeniably sexy.
